Ubuntu for Phones on the Role for Developers
Ubuntu for phones is going to hit markets in October, but the first serving of this cake will be given to developers next week. The Touch Developer Preview of Ubuntu will be first available for Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 as announced by Canonical on 21st February 2013. Canonical Limited will display Ubuntu for phones at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) at Barcelona form 25th – 28th February 2013. And Canonical is also said to install Ubuntu OS on phones of developers who want it installed and who are attending MWC 🙂 So all you developers you can go to Ubuntu stand, booth number 81D30, App Planet Hall 8.1, where Ubuntu will be displayed on variety of devices.
Our platform supports a wide range of screen sizes and resolutions. Developers who have experience bringing up phone environments will find it relatively easy to port Ubuntu to current handset. We look forward to adding support for additional devices for everyday testing and experimentation.

Canonical has also published a developer SDK that allows developers to create applications for all Ubuntu platforms using using native Qt/QML, web or HTML5.
This release marks the threshold of wider engagement – both with industry and community. For developers, contributors and partners, there is now a coherent experience that warrants attention. The cleanest, most stylish mobile interface around.
