Google, the online search giant, has made this possible by launching Google TV a couple of days back at its developer ‘I/O’ event in San Francisco.

Google TV is a new experience made for television that combines the TV you know and love with the freedom and power of the Internet.

Google is working with Sony and Logitech to put Google TV (Google search built into the TV to pull web video and broadcast) inside TVs, Blu-ray players and companion boxes. The browser on Google TV is simply the Linux version of Google Chrome. The user interface will have to be modified for TV, else how will a website designed for a smaller monitor turn into a larger one? And the same software that powers Google’s mobile devices – Android – is being used to power Google TV.

Senior executives working on the new Google TV platform have said that Sony has not got exclusive access to the new Google TV platform.

Device will be available to purchase from September, 2010 at Best Buy stores in USA initially.

Google probably launch it globally on 2011. Google, however, believes there is a huge market opportunity in this space with around 4 billion people across the world watching TV.

"With the web, finding and accessing interesting content is fast and often as easy as a search. But the web still lacks many of the great features and the high-quality viewing experience that TV offers. So that got us thinking…what if we helped people experience the best of TV and the best of the web in one seamless experience?" reasons Google on its official blog site.

Google TV uses search to give an easy and fast way to navigate to TV channels, websites, apps, shows and movies. For example, if you already know the channel or programme you want to watch, you need to just type in the name and you’re there.

So you’ve found a great set of video on youtube, and want to download them on your pc just for fun. Here is a simple way to do that. If you change the "Y" in the youtube.com address to "5", 5outube provides links for downloading that video in MP4 or FLV formats.

That’s all there is to it, really—any YouTube video you want to download, just click on the YouTube logo in the lower-right corner of an embedded clip to get to the main YouTube page, then change the "Y" in YouTube.com to "5". Neat stuff, and it worked on all five of the test clips I sent its way.

Friends, you must have tried numerous ways to download videos / mp3 by using various plugins for firefox or other softwares or websites that did this for you , but now I am going to tell you a method that looks techie but is really easy and can help you download anything, YES you heard me right, just Anything off the internet so may it be any Video, audio , mp3 or any other streaming stuff from any website I’m not just talking about youtube or dailymotion or any other video sharing site but rather  for any site , even if they are using their custom player and stuff .

Procedure

1. Get  Fiddler – it’s a HTTP debugging proxy ( Dont worry about the name , you dont have to do any debugging with it )  and then Install and run it .

You will see a screen like this

Now the actual concept is that Fiddler can see every website and file  that you open from Internet on your web browser or even inside any other software , now we would use this fact this way that we will open a website containing media ( video suppose ) then we will also keep a look on fiddler window for all the files that are being downloaded . Now when you press play on the video /mp3 and it begins to play ( stream)  you will see that fiddler window would have  many rows of all the connections that took place , all you have to do is find out the row that shows a Downward Green arrow constantly while the video/mp3 is playing

NOTE – While you open Website pages a lot of such rows would be created , to get rid of them just click on Remove-> Remove All  at the top toolbar menu . So as soon as you  reach the page which has the video/mp3/flash just  click on remove all once to clear all rows and so you can easily find the actual link without looking for it among large no. of rows .

So in my case I opened a Youtube  page and  I pressed on play and then I looked on Fiddler , and there you can see the Highlighted yellow part is the actual link  as the arrow is green constantly and the Body column has value = –1

Ever wish to Play a YouTube video starting from a specific time like  playing a 3m 25s long video at a point 1m 20s (m = minutes,  s = seconds) ,  you would like to do this to YouTube specially when the video you are watching is very long or you are on a low bandwidth dialup connection well in any such case just follow these steps and start your favorite music video right from the point where you  want it to be .

Simply add #t=numseconds at the end of each URL of Youtube and the play back will start automatically. For example to skip directly to 68th sec of video or 1m 8s of the video , simply append #t=68s or #t=1m8s at the end of the URL and hit enter. The video will start playing from the specified time onwards.

This is what your final URL will look like;
